Introduction

This practice test is to address the requirements of learning outcome one, which is about explaining the distinctive nature of sociology and its connections with other social science subjects and of course to give you a mini-flavour of what the real test will be like.

The family is one of the most important social institutions in UK society. Different social science subjects will tend to concentrate on different aspects of the family as they attempt to explain its effect on society and human behaviour.
