The newspaper industry is rapidly changing. Since the early 1980s, a major technological revolution has swept the industry, with major changes in the way newspapers are produced.
Fewer people work in the newspaper industry now, and computers - particularly desktop publishing packages, the internet and email - have become increasingly important.
